TALENTED up-and- coming hockey players in the North had the chance to learn from two of the best drag- flick corner specialists in the state at a coaching clinic in Launceston yesterday.
Former Olympic Kookaburra representative Luke Doerner and national development squad member Nick Budgeon have been conducting clinics around the state.
“We’ve had a bit of a roadshow, Luke and I, and had a weekend a few weeks ago with a day in Burnie and a day in Launceston with two sessions a day with younger kids and older kids,” Budgeon said.
“We’ve done the same thing this weekend, as well as some midweek clinics in Hobart.
“It helps to identify some kids who could be drag specialists at a state level and it’s good for kids to get exposure from Luke and myself on the skills involved in the concept.”There are some talented kids getting around, which is really positive.”
