A SOUTH Nowra woman will face court following a joint Corrective Services and police operation on Saturday.
The search operation at the South Coast Correctional Centre used drug detection dogs and targeted inmate visitors.
Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command joined Corrective Services NSW to check people as they entered the jail’s car park.
Officers found 50 small resealable plastic bags and 50 hypodermic syringes in the car of a 35-year-old South Nowra woman.
The woman admitted to knowing it was an offence to bring hypodermic needles and syringes into the jail.
A 28-year-old Tregear man was also caught on Saturday.
Officers found a machete, knife and baseball bat in his car and will issue the man with a fine for the machete.
